Shannon Whitten – Creative Director

  • Shannon is one of the four co-founders of Speak Up Revolution. She received her BA in Communication from San Diego Christian College and is thankful to use what she learned to help others. She is a big dreamer, but also handles many of the day to day operations of Speak Up Revolution.  In addition to helping create new projects and partnerships, Shannon also helps generate community interest in the organization through social media and marketing. Shannon helps coordinate staff and volunteer involvement in SUR activities. If you found her at a coffee shop she would most likely be sipping on a vanilla soy latte. Shannon is married to Jeremiah Whitten who is also a part of the SUR team.

 

 

Justin Taylor- Director of Film

 

  • Justin, is one of the four co-founders of Speak Up Revolution. As an aspiring film director, full-time college student, and website designer, Justin fills many roles at SUR. Justin is our web designer, film director, film editor, and screenwriter. Justin helps develop and maintain public interest in SUR production content and helps build our online profile. His attention to detail and dedication to the organization are reflected in the quality of SUR films and video content.

Brittany Taylor- Director of Research & Development

 

  • Brittany is also one of the four co-founders of Speak Up Revolution. She helps maintain SUR partnerships with other local and international non-profit organizations, and works on research and project development for SUR. Brittany’s background in Communication and Foreign Language is also very valuable to SUR, as well as her experience working in the non-profit sector. Brittany loves ice coffee.

Jeremiah Whitten- Staff Writer & Financials

 

  •  Jeremiah, or commonly called Jer, is another one of the four co-founders of Speak Up Revolution. As an elementary school teacher with a background in English, Jeremiah uses his writing and editing skills to create and edit public script for Speak Up Revolution. In addition to handling some of the clerical tasks involved in running SUR, Jeremiah hosts events and helps work on new projects, events, and fundraisers. Jer loves his ice coffee, a little too much. Jer is married to Shannon Whitten who is also a part of the SUR team. 

 

Dave Putnam- Sound & Tec

Chris Wright- Graphic Design

  • He is excited to use the gifts God has given to help and support SUR. He loves art and design, surfing, soccer, and music. He is married to Carly Wright and she is his most favorite person and best friend and they are soon having a baby. He doesn’t drink coffee very much, but if he does, it will most likely be an iced mocha. His favorite Bible verse is 1 Corinthians 2:2. Carly Wright- Administrative Assistant

  • Carly Wright is excited to be a part of SUR for the opportunity it gives to use her time, energy, and gifts for the Gospel and to support something she stands for. She loves being a wife, a mom, crafting, singing, and playing the piano. She is married to Chris Wright, her favorite person in the whole world, and she is the mom of Eden, her favorite baby in the world. At a coffee shop, Carly will almost always order green tea, especially magnolia green tea from Pannikin. One of her favorite Bible verses is Isaiah 26:3.

 

 

Sergey Kolivayko- Film

  • Sergey Kolivayko has many nicknames: Kabala, Serozha, but most commonly you will hear him called Serge. He was born in Ukraine and moved to the States when he was 6 years old. He is excited to be a part of SUR because he loves working with real people who work for a real cause. He loves music (guitar, piano, banjo) and art (video, photography, design, murals, painting). He is currently studying in the “school of life,” as he enjoys learning screen printing, photography, video, design, as well as using his gifts to serve SUR. He works at Vista Village Pediatrics, Tagless Threads, and Utmost Creative. To keep up with all of these things, you will often find him ordering four shots of espresso with vanilla and half & half. His favorite Bible verse is James 5:17. Sergey has his own business, Utmost Creative, which specializes in photography, video, sound, design, and art. Irene Hackett- Traveling Blogger

  • Irene Quiros Hackett (aka “NayNay”) is excited to be a part of SUR because she believes in what it stands for and that together we can help make an impact in this world. In her spare time, she loves to write, hike, travel, and bake. She is currently embarking on a 9-month-long missions trip. She has been working at Fallbrook Coffee Co. and her favorite drink is an iced almond milk latte. It’s perfect because she’s allergic to dairy. Irene is soon to be married to Ryan Gosling…. oh wait, never mind. She is single. Her favorite Bible verse is Romans 12:1-2. Esther Cardenas- Event Coordinator

  • Esther Cardenas is excited to be a part of SUR for the experience that it offers, especially the opportunity it gives to learn about injustices and be able to make others aware and hopefully to stir them to take action. Esther earned her B.A. in Communication from San Diego Christian College and now works in their admissions office. She is also currently pursuing a Master’s in Social Work at San Diego State University. Her favorite things to get at a coffee shop are either a vanilla latte on a cold day or a Starbucks double shot if it’s hot outside. Esther’s favorite Bible verse is Romans 8:28. Anneke Preston- Music Coordinator

  • Anneke Preston is more commonly known as Annie. She is currently studying at a local Bible College. She works as a full time worship leader at Rainbow Community Church. She is dating Justin Taylor (another member of the Speak Up team and says Annie is the most beautiful, incredible person he has ever met). Her favorite thing to order at a coffee shop is a chai tea latte. Isaiah 43:1-2 are her favorite Bible verses and she loves Jesus so much.

 

Keary Cheney- Photography

  • Keary Cheney is one of SUR’s photographers. She runs her own photography business with her husband Justin, check them out at www.justinandkeary.com.

 

Mark Hannibal- Photography

  • Mark Hannibal is excited to be a part of SUR because it allows him to use his gift of photography for the Lord. He loves photography, as well as running and other sports. Mark graduated from San Diego State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Studies. He currently works at Lincoln Military Housing. He is married and his wife, Kelly, loves Mark, music, and animals. She works with cars and birds at a boarding facility called “The Purring Parrot.” When ordering a drink at a coffee shop, Mark would choose a tuxedo mocha. Some of his favorite Bible verses are Jeremiah 29:11, Genesis 1:3, and 1 John 1:9. Mark also has his own photography business, Mark Hannibal Photography, specializes in family, engagement, and senior portraits. He also does wedding and sports photography.
